Nepal's diverse topography ranges from the fertile plains of the Terai in the south to the towering Himalayas in the north.
The country covers an area of 147,516 km² (56,956 sq mi) and is divided into three main geographical regions: the Himalayan region, the hilly region, and the Terai. Nepal experiences five seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn, and winter, each offering unique experiences for travelers.
