Geography of Nepal

Nepal is a landlocked country in South Asia, bordered by China to the north and India to the south, east, and west. The country is home to some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest, the tallest mountain on Earth. Nepal's diverse topography ranges from the fertile plains of the Terai in the south to the towering Himalayas in the north.

The country covers an area of 147,516 km² (56,956 sq mi) and is divided into three main geographical regions: the Himalayan region, the hilly region, and the Terai. Nepal experiences five seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn, and winter, each offering unique experiences for travelers.
