Darjeeling is a town and hill station in the Indian state of West Bengal, located in the Lesser Himalayas at an elevation of approximately 2,000 meters (6,562 ft). It is famous for its tea industry, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and for the panoramic views of the Kangchenjunga range.
The region is characterized by its steep slopes, terraced tea gardens, and cool climate. Darjeeling covers an area of about 19 square kilometers and is divided into several wards. The town experiences three distinct seasons: spring, summer, and winter, with monsoons bringing heavy rainfall from June to September.

The best time to visit Darjeeling is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (October to November) seasons. During these months, the weather is pleasant with clear skies, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The summer months (June to September) experience monsoon rains which can cause landslides but offer lush green landscapes. Winters (December to February) are cold but provide clear views of the Himalayas.
